Central Regional Minister Charge Clergy On Galamsey - Extend Your Strength Beyond the Pulpit

Pastors in Ghana have been urged to step-up their religious obligations beyond the pulpit to other crucial matters which bothers on national security and safety.


The clergy have been implored not to limit their importance only to prayers as often witnessed.


Hon. Ekow Panyin Eduamoah Okyere, Minister for the Central Region made this statement at the Region's observance to the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving in Cape Coast on Tuesday dubbed, "Reflect, Reset, and Renew for National Prosperity."


He emphasized that it's about time the clergy act firm and reject monies gained from illegal means, which he termed "filth money" sow as seed and offertory by some church members.


The Central Regional Minister eulogizing dangers illegal mining (galamsey) poses to the nation, he admonished the need for pastors in the country to champion in the fight against the menace by cutting all forms of monetary ties with persons known to actively indulge in galamsey activities within the community. 


He cautioned pastors to refrain from assigning such individuals to church positions, as such act instill in other church members to equally strive and acquire money through such illegal means in other to command favour to ascertain such positions in the church. But rather expel such members to the church's back trenches.                       


Rev. Dr. Bismark Moore, Regional Chairman for the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council and the Regional Superintendent of Assemblies of God-Ghana, at the occasion echoed the need for a moral reset in governance where truth is priced over political convenience.


He again called for a reset in leadership where public office is seen as stewardship and not status under an economic reset where jobs are created not only in Accra and Kumasi, but in every corner of the country.
