Video: Akyem Anyinasin Residents kick against any form of mining

The residents of Akyem Anyinasin in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern region have kicked against any form of mining in their community.


Speaking at a press conference held at the market circle of Anyinasin, the Convenor of a pressure group called Anyinasin citizens against Mining, Mr. William Boakye aka Agove stated that they will not allow any form of mining in their community for they know the results of mining especially galamsey 


Mr. Agove then urged the president of Ghana, His Excellence John Dramani Mahama, the chief of Akyem Abuakwa state, Osaagyefo Amotia Ofori Payin, the MP and the MCE of Abuakwa North and other relevant authorities to preserve Akyem Anyinasin as food basket for the Eastern region.



They then accuse their Chief, Osaberima Atta Appiakorang Agyei II and some stakeholders of being behind the pending mining activities which have already brought chaos to the community.



Some of the citizens send warnings to the said mining company to stay off their farms because farming is their success of livelihood.

They also lamented on the grounds that their chief, Osaberima Atta Appiakorang Agyei II who used to protect the community from mining has now turned his back on them.
