The Assembly Member for the Schaefer Electoral Area in the Dormaa Central Municipality, Hon. Daniel Ata Awuni, has blamed the leadership of the Dormaa Central Municipal Assembly for denying him access to the District Road Improvement Program (DRIP) machines needed to carry out maintenance work on a deteriorating access road in his electoral area.

According to the Assembly Member, recent rainfall has eroded some access roads in his electoral area. He has spent over Gh¢20,000 on gravel and sand to fill the eroded gutters and has requested the DRIP machines for leveling, but the assembly continues to deny him access, providing numerous excuses to justify their actions.

He has therefore criticized the leadership of the assembly for what he describes as political intimidation, aimed at frustrating his efforts to enhance development in his electoral area, as he is an NPP assembly member.

The assembly member described it as discrimination, allowing the DRIP machines to operate for various individuals while denying him access to the maintenance of the public pathway in his electoral area. He declared he would not remain passive while his constituents continue to endure the deteriorating condition of the access roads, as the assembly and other individuals retain control of the DRIP machines for their personal pursuits. He vowed to fight diligently to ensure that the maintenance work on his roads is completed.
