PUBLIC ALERT: Save Our Youth from Drug and Alcohol Abuse

Ghana faces a growing crisis that threatens the very foundation of our nation — the rising abuse of drugs and alcohol among our youth.

It is becoming worrisome to see how many brilliant young boys and girls are losing their future to this destructive habit. A visit to our rehabilitation and mental health centers reveals a sad truth: many of the victims are teenagers and students who once had bright dreams.

This situation calls for urgent action. We appeal to government authorities, the Narcotics Control Commission, the Ministry of Health, the Ghana Education Service, and all stakeholders to rise and save our future generation.

We recommend:

Stronger public education against drug and alcohol abuse.

More funding and support for rehabilitation programs.

Strict enforcement against the sale of drugs and alcohol to minors.

Involvement of parents, schools, and religious bodies in youth mentorship.

Our children and grandchildren deserve a future of health, knowledge, and discipline — not one destroyed by addiction. Let us all act now to protect them.
