Pink Month: Ladies After God's Heart foundation screens Kasoa Women

Faith based Non-governmental organisation, Ladies After God's Heart foundation has screened women at Kasoa new market on breast cancer to mark the Pink month 


October has been earmarked as breast cancer awareness month or Pink month to be used to screen and educate women of a deadly disease called breast cancer.




Speaking with iTV news, Dr. Evelyn Dzigbordi Paha, Senior House officer at Princess Marie Children Hospital who is also the C.E.O of the Foundation said they raise gifted ladies after God's own Heart to serve the nation with their God given talents and also to preach the word of God with initiatives like "She is strong" outreach program or health screening. 


She added that as women focused foundation, they're using this month (October) to educate women that "early detection saves lives."


Dr. Paha used the opportunity to show appreciation to the Awutu Senya East Municipal director of health services, Dr. Stanley Kwaku Yiadoo and his team and also the Awutu Senya East Municipal chief executive (MCE) Hon. Seth Sabah Sewornu Banini for their immense support towards the program.


Senior House officer at Princess Marie Children Hospital advised ladies to do regular breast screening and check up to help them detect early symptoms of breast cancer.


Dr. Juanita Brehua-Nkansah, Clinical Oncologist at Korle bu Teaching Hospital added that, there are no causes of breast cancer but there are risk factors which can increase your chances and it has been in two groups which is modifiable and non- modifiable risk factors.



She advised ladies to try and avoid the modifiable factors like Obesity, too much alcohol, smoking, exposure of chest to ironizing  radiation, taking of hormonal pills like estrogen only pills which can  increase their chances of getting breast cancer.
