WOMEN WITH DISABILITIES PAY COURTESY CALL ON THE DEPUTY CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF THE NATIONAL YOUTH AUTHORITY (NYA)

The leadership of Women with Disabilities and key members of the 2024 NDC Disability Desk Campaign Team paid an official visit to the newly appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Finance and Administration of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Hon. Adongo Atule Jacob, at his office in Accra on Wednesday, 19th February 2025.

The delegation, led by Comrade Joyce Gyamfi, visited to congratulate the DCEO on his appointment and to showcase the intellectual and entrepreneurial capabilities of their members. As part of the visit, they presented a variety of handmade products, including detergents, bathing soaps, body and hair pomades, brown sugar, beads, kente, smocks, slippers, sandals, and garments.

The team was warmly received by Hon. Adongo, the CEO of NYA, Hon. Osman Abdulai Ayariga Esq, and other officials. The meeting was characterized by mutual respect and camaraderie.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Comrade Joyce Gyamfi stated:

"We are here to congratulate you on your well-deserved appointments as CEO and DCEO of this esteemed institution. You truly deserve these roles, and we wish you the best of luck. We also seek your support in creating sustainable job opportunities for persons with disabilities and in reviving and promoting existing businesses owned by our members."

She further appealed for the establishment of a Disability Office/Desk within the NYA to ensure inclusivity and support for persons with disabilities.

In response, Hon. Osman Abdulai Ayariga Esq., the CEO of NYA, expressed his appreciation for the visit and the thoughtful presentation. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting persons with disabilities and assured the delegation:

"I will invite you for further discussions on policies that will benefit your community."

He also acknowledged the efforts of Hon. Adongo in advocating for persons with disabilities within the authority’s operations.

Hon. Adongo Atule Jacob, the Deputy CEO, also expressed his gratitude for the visit and pledged his full support, working in close collaboration with the CEO to advance opportunities for persons with disabilities.

The meeting concluded with Hon. Ayariga Esq. thanking the delegation for their visit, support, and cooperation.
