The government has announced a 10% salary increase for public sector workers, starting January 1. This decision follows negotiations between President John Mahama and labor unions.
The Government of Ghana has officially approved a 10% salary increase for public sector workers under the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) for the 2025 fiscal year.
As per the agreement signed on February 20, 2025, between the government—represented by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), the Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment (MLJE), and the Ministry of Finance (MoF)—and Organized Labour, this increase will take effect from January 1, 2025, and will continue until December 2025.
This agreement follows negotiations involving the Public Services Joint Standing Negotiating Committee (PSJSNC) and key stakeholders, including workers’ unions and public service institutions.
