Kasoa Mankrado Nana Otoboah Kwasi Gariba I, condemns carnival clash
The Mankrado of Kasoa, Nana Otoboah Kwasi Gariba I, has firmly condemned the violent clash that occurred among the Muslim youth during the Eid carnival on the principal street of Kasoa. The incident, which left about three youth injured, began as a misunderstanding between several youth groups.
Earlier, Nana Otoboah Gariba had extended warm wishes to all Muslims celebrating Eid Fitr, the festival marking the end of Ramadan. He emphasized that the name of Kasoa should be associated with peace and harmony, not violence. He made it clear that the chiefs and elders will not tolerate any form of violence in Kasoa and its surroundings.
In an interview with iTV News, Nana Otoboah Gariba urged all Muslim youth to stay away from hyperactive drugs such as marijuana, Tramadol, and other substances that lead to various social vices. He stressed the importance of promoting unity and understanding among the youth, particularly during significant religious celebrations.
The Mankrado called for community engagement and dialogue to address underlying issues that may lead to such conflicts. He encouraged parents, community leaders, and religious figures to work together in guiding the youth and fostering an environment of respect and peaceful coexistence.
Nana Otoboah Gariba also highlighted the vital role of education in preventing social unrest and promoting positive behavior. He appealed to the youth to channel their energy into productive activities such as sports, education, and community service, which can help build a stronger, more unified Kasoa.
He concluded by reminding everyone that Eid Fitr is a time for reflection, gratitude, and joy, urging all to celebrate the occasion with love and peace in their hearts.
