EASTER: A PERIOD OF REFLECTION, NOT DRUGS. KASOA PRESBY SOFO URGES THE YOUTH

Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Kasoa District Minister, Rev. Seth Owusu Agyekum has urged the youth to stay away from hard drugs during the period of Easter and beyond.

Rev. Agyekum emphasized the true meaning of Easter and urged young people to prioritize faith, family unity and responsible behavior during the holiday season.

Speaking with iTV news on the significance of Easter, Rev. Agyekum said, it is a period of reflection not for drugs. "Easter is the time to remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and to reflect on our own lives. I Urged the youth to use this time for prayer, self-examination, and acts of kindness, rather than engaging in activities that are harmful to themselves and their communities."

Rev Seth, Kasoa PRESBY SOFO expressed concern about the increasing cases of drug use among young people in Kasoa and other parts of Ghana, particularly during festive periods."We have seen too many young lives tragically affected by drug abuse," he said. "Easter should be a time for celebration, but it should also be a time for caution. We must protect our youth from the dangers of drug use and encourage them to make responsible choices."

In his advise he quotes Matthew 27:20 to tells all Christians and individuals to have faith and steadfast to conquer any storm that may come their way with the death and suffering of Christ our Lord during and after the celebration of Easter.

He urges parents and community leaders to play an active role in guiding and supporting young people during the Easter holidays.
