A Ghana Air Force Z-9 helicopter, which was transporting eight individuals, has reportedly gone missing after taking off from Accra on Tuesday morning. The helicopter was en route to Obuasi in the Ashanti region when the incident occurred.

According to a statement from the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), the aircraft departed the capital at 9:12 a.m. but lost radar contact during its flight. On board were three crew members and five passengers, whose safety is now a primary concern for the authorities.

Search and rescue operations are expected to be initiated promptly, with military and emergency services mobilizing resources to locate the missing aircraft. The GAF has assured the public that they are making every effort to determine the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and to ensure the safety of those on board.
