President John Dramani Mahama announced the appointment of Commissioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohunu as the new Inspector-General of Police (IGP), succeeding COP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare. This decision was made in consultation with the Council of State and is in line with Articles 91 and 202 of the 1992 Constitution.
COP Yohunu brings an impressive 40 years of experience in law enforcement to his new role. He is expected to lead significant modernization and transformation efforts within the Ghana Police Service, enhancing its efficiency and effectiveness.
