The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, announced that 40 missing containers from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have been located in a warehouse owned by an Indian national in Kpone, near Tema. He made this statement during an interview with TV3 on Wednesday, March 26, commending national security and law enforcement for their efforts in tracking down the containers.

"The key issue is the location of these containers. I was briefed this morning that approximately 40 of them have been found in a warehouse in Kpone, belonging to an Indian national. All 40 containers have been confiscated and relocated to a secure site," Mr. Jinapor explained.

The warehouse owner claimed that he purchased the containers last year, but the Minister emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and law enforcement agencies are committed to ensuring accountability.

"This is now an investigative matter, and law enforcement will ensure that justice is served," he added. Mr. Jinapor also mentioned that intelligence reports indicate there are additional missing containers in other areas. He assured the public that security agencies are actively pursuing leads to recover all missing containers and hold those responsible accountable.

"They have identified other locations and are following up to retrieve all the containers and ensure the offenders are prosecuted in the appropriate courts," he confirmed.
