'As I Grow' NGO educates Over 2,500 students on Sexual Reproductive Health

A non-governmental organisation (NGO), As I Grow, has organized a sensitization programme for over 2,500 students at Krobo Odumasi in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region. The programme, themed "Beyond the Dream of the Teenager, aimed to educate students on the implications of teenage pregnancy and the importance of adolescent reproductive health.

The event, held at the Presbyterian Church Zimmerman Chapel-Odumase Krobo, brought together students from Senior High Schools, Junior High Schools, and Primary schools, as well as the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Education Director and other stakeholders.

Nana Debrah Bekoe, CEO of As I Grow NGO Foundation, speaking with iTV news reporter Apelete Kofi-Michel, emphasized the need to educate students on the dangers of engaging in sexual activities at an early age. He advised them to strive for excellence and avoid teenage pregnancy.

                    

The Lower Manya Krobo Municipality has seen a surge in teenage pregnancy cases, prompting the NGO to take action.

 Samuel Kwasi Tettey, Municipal Education Director, thanked As I Grow NGO for organizing the programme, acknowledging the high level of teenage pregnancy in the area.
